A private celebration on Koh Samui for 20 adults over three nights in peak season usually costs THB 1.0 million to 3.2 million in total, or roughly THB 50,000 to 160,000 per guest. At around THB 34 to the US dollar, that is about USD 30,000 to 95,000. The spread is wide because three decisions set most of the number: when you travel, how you house the group, and how produced the main night is.
The figures below are indicative ranges for planning. Final quotes depend on dates, villa availability and the specific brief. Use them to set a realistic budget before you approach anyone.
The line-by-line budget
The table assumes 20 adults, 10 bedrooms, three nights, and peak-season pricing. All figures are in Thai baht for the full group.
| Line item | Indicative range (THB) | What sits inside it |
|---|---|---|
| Accommodation | 360,000 to 900,000 | Three adjacent villas or one 10-bedroom estate, three nights, with villa staff |
| Airport transfers | 15,000 to 40,000 | Arrivals and departures in vans, staggered flights, luggage vehicle |
| Private boat day | 90,000 to 220,000 | Chartered catamaran or two speedboats, crew, lunch, soft drinks, snorkel gear |
| Celebration night production | 150,000 to 900,000 | Decor, lighting, sound, entertainment, staging crew |
| Catering with private chef | 150,000 to 350,000 | Breakfasts, two villa dinners and the celebration dinner, with service staff |
| Beverages | 60,000 to 180,000 | Wine, spirits, beer and mixers bought at wholesale, bar staff extra |
| Photography and film | 40,000 to 220,000 | Photographer for two sessions, optional highlight film |
| Restaurant and beach club bookings | 60,000 to 160,000 | One group dinner out and one beach club afternoon, including minimum spends |
| Planning fee | 100,000 to 250,000 | Design, contracting, budget control, on-site team |
| Total | 1,025,000 to 3,220,000 |
A plan with moderate choices on every line tends to land between THB 1.8 million and 2.4 million. The low end assumes a simple celebration night and the cheapest villa configuration. The high end assumes an estate and a fully produced evening.

Notes on specific lines
Accommodation. Villa rates in peak season are quoted per night, often with minimum stays of five to seven nights over the Christmas and New Year period. A three-night booking may not be possible in that window at all. Confirm minimum stays before you fix dates.
Beverages. Buying wine and spirits at wholesale and delivering to the villa costs far less than restaurant or hotel bar pricing. Villas generally allow you to bring your own. At restaurants and beach clubs, corkage is negotiable and we agree it in writing before the booking is confirmed. Order early, because import lead times on specific wines can run a few weeks.
Boat day. Twenty adults need a large catamaran or two boats traveling together. A single speedboat will not carry the group comfortably. Price rises with vessel size, crew count and route.
Photography. Photographers are priced by coverage hours and deliverables. A highlight film adds editing time and is the main reason the line stretches to the top of its range.
The three biggest cost drivers
1. Season
Peak season runs roughly from late December through March, with a second peak in July and August. The Christmas to New Year window is the most expensive stretch for villas, flights and boat charters. Moving the same program by two to three weeks, out of the holiday window and into January or February, can lower the accommodation line meaningfully and widens your choice of properties. Samui's heaviest rain falls in October and November, so those months trade lower prices for weather risk.
2. One estate or several villas
Three adjacent villas and one large estate cost similar amounts, but they behave differently.
| Three adjacent villas | One large estate | |
|---|---|---|
| Configuration | Three villas of three to four bedrooms | One property, about 10 bedrooms |
| Nightly rate (THB) | 120,000 to 270,000 | 130,000 to 300,000 |
| Three-night total (THB) | 360,000 to 810,000 | 390,000 to 900,000 |
| Availability | Easier to find | Few properties on Samui sleep 20 |
| Privacy | Each family or group has its own space | Everyone shares one footprint |
| Event night | One villa must host, or guests walk between properties | One venue, one setup, one sound zone |
| Staffing | Several villa teams to coordinate | One house team |
The estate costs somewhat more per night and books out first. It also simplifies the celebration night, because decor, sound and catering serve one space. With separate villas, we choose the villa with the best lawn or terrace, then confirm its neighbors and noise limits. Guests in the other villas stay a short walk or buggy ride away.
3. How produced the celebration night is
This line has the widest range of any item in the budget. We plan it in three tiers.
- Light, THB 150,000 to 300,000. Styled tables, florals, ambient lighting, a sound system and a solo musician or DJ.
- Mid, THB 300,000 to 600,000. Custom decor scheme, a lighting design with rigging, a live band or performers, and a staging crew.
- Full, THB 600,000 to 900,000. A themed build, stage or dance floor, show-level lighting and sound, multiple performances and a larger crew.
Beach and lawn venues need generators, weatherproofing and a backup plan for rain, and these add cost at every tier. A venue with a covered terrace reduces the contingency spend.

What the planning fee covers
The planning fee, THB 100,000 to 250,000 at this scale, pays for the work that holds the program together. It covers:
- Sourcing and shortlisting villas against your dates, group size and noise requirements.
- Requesting, comparing and contracting suppliers, with every cost shown to you line by line.
- Designing the schedule and the celebration night, including a run-of-show and a rain plan.
- Managing the budget as choices change, so you see the effect of each decision on the total.
- Coordinating guest arrivals, dietary needs and transport.
- An on-site team during the three nights, so you can focus on hosting.
The fee does not cover supplier costs, flights or anything you add after contracting. Larger programs sit toward the top of the range, and so do ones with complex guest logistics or multiple villas.
Setting your budget
Start with the three drivers and work backward. Pick your dates and see what the villa market offers. Decide whether you want one estate or several villas. Then choose a production tier for the celebration night. Those three answers move the total more than any other decision.
Fix the lines you care about most, and let the rest flex. A host who wants a full production should expect to trade down on photography scope or the restaurant night. A host who wants the best estate may keep the celebration night light and let the setting do the work.
